Ziyarat Places in Madinah: Masjid Quba, Uhud, Qiblatayn and More

By Dream Fare Pakistan · 6 min read · Updated October 2026

Madinah is full of places connected to the life of the Prophet ﷺ and his Companions. Most of them can be visited in a single morning tour, and a few, like Masjid Quba, are worth visiting more than once.

The main Ziyarat places in Madinah

  1. 1
    Masjid Quba
The first mosque built in Islam. The Prophet ﷺ taught that praying two rak’ahs in Masjid Quba carries the reward of an Umrah. Make wudu at your hotel before you go.
  2. 2
Mount Uhud and the martyrs’ graves
The site of the Battle of Uhud, where Sayyiduna Hamza (RA) and other Companions are buried. You can see the archers’ hill (Jabal al-Rumah) nearby.
  3. 3
    Masjid al-Qiblatayn
The “mosque of the two qiblas”, where the direction of prayer changed from Jerusalem to Makkah.
  4. 4
    Jannat al-Baqi
The cemetery next to Masjid an-Nabawi where many family members and Companions of the Prophet ﷺ are buried. Visiting hours are limited and usually for men.
  5. 5
    The Seven Mosques (Khandaq)
Small mosques at the site of the Battle of the Trench, where the Muslims dug a trench to defend Madinah.
  6. 6
    Masjid al-Ghamamah
Near Masjid an-Nabawi, the place where the Prophet ﷺ prayed the Eid and rain prayers.
