Packing well makes a big difference to your Umrah. Use this checklist before you leave home so you can focus on worship, not on what you forgot.
Documents
- ✓Passport (valid 6+ months) and a photocopy kept separately
- ✓Umrah e-visa printout and a copy on your phone
- ✓Air tickets and hotel vouchers
- ✓CNIC, and B-form/FRC for children
- ✓Polio and other vaccination certificates
- ✓Emergency contact numbers, including your travel agent
Ihram and clothing
- ✓Men: two sets of Ihram, an Ihram belt and comfortable sandals that leave the ankle bone exposed
- ✓Women: loose, modest clothing, comfortable abayas and scarves
- ✓Light cotton clothes for daytime and a light jacket for air-conditioned areas
- ✓Comfortable walking shoes for after Umrah
Health and toiletries
- ✓Your regular medicines with prescriptions, in hand luggage
- ✓Unscented soap, shampoo and deodorant for while you are in Ihram
- ✓Pain relief, ORS sachets, plasters and blister pads
- ✓Vaseline or anti-chafing cream — very useful for long walks
- ✓Face masks for crowded areas
Useful extras
- ✓A small backpack and a cloth bag for your shoes
- ✓Pocket prayer mat and a pocket Quran or dua book
- ✓Power bank, charger and a universal plug adapter
- ✓Saudi SIM or eSIM for maps and WhatsApp
- ✓Some Saudi Riyals in cash; most shops also accept cards
- ✓Umbrella or cap for the sun (outside of Ihram for men)
Coming home
Airlines have specific rules for carrying Zamzam water. Do not pack Zamzam in checked suitcases — we confirm your airline’s Zamzam allowance before you fly home.
