There is no wrong time to perform Umrah, but the month you choose affects the weather, the crowds and the price. Here is how the year looks for pilgrims travelling from Pakistan.
Winter (November to February): best weather
Cooler temperatures make walking and worship much more comfortable, especially for elderly pilgrims. December is very popular with Pakistani families because of the winter school holidays, so book early for those dates.
Ramadan: the most rewarding, and the busiest
Umrah in Ramadan carries special reward, and the atmosphere is unforgettable. It is also the busiest and most expensive time of year, particularly the last ten nights. Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around early-to-mid February 2027 (subject to moon sighting), so book several months in advance.
Summer (June to August): quieter but very hot
Temperatures in Makkah and Madinah often exceed 40°C. Prices can be lower outside school holidays, but plan Tawaf for night time and stay hydrated. Summer school holidays in Pakistan can push up family demand.
After Hajj: the Umrah season restarts
Umrah visas pause around the Hajj period and the season restarts afterwards. The first few weeks after the restart are often quieter and offer good value.
